Mercury tilt swap

The mercury swap consists of a drop of STK4301 mercury within a glass bulb with 2 or maybe more contacts. The two contacts pass through the glass, and are STK8040 connected through the mercury when the bulb is tilted to produce the mercury roll on to them. This kind of swap performs significantly far better compared to ball tilt change, since the IRFP360 liquid metal connection is unaffected by dirt, debris and oxidation, it wets the contacts making sure a very very low resistance bounce-free connection, and movement and vibration usually do not PCM1735 create a very poor contact. These types can be utilized for precision functions. STRG5653 can also be used in which arcing is unsafe (this kind of as in the presence of explosive vapour) since the whole unit is sealed.
